As I got my session underway I almost didn't even play. Just the way I have been running made me not want to go through a lot of frustration tonight, but I know better than anyone avoidance is no answer to struggles at the tables.
Before I got started tonight I realized an important thing I had not considered. I realized I had not taken a single note since I started playing 6 max. Not that I didn't want to, but the times that I did the tables were coming to me to make decisions. Obviously the pace is faster at 6 max. Now I am not blaming this for my recent struggles, but I decided that not being able to take notes could be detrimental over the long term. So I decided since the pace is faster let's cut it back to 4 tables. 6 tables are just fine for full ring, but for 6 max perhaps 4 tables would be better. I did not expect any great difference............. but after a full session of 1007 hands I turned a profit of over 4 buy-ins. All 6 max losses erased and about $1.90 to the good.
I wish I had a magic ball I could look into that would tell me was it cutting back the tables? Did the cards just turn and I ran better? Was it both? I have no idea, but I am not about to test it by going back to 6 tables and I was able to take a few notes on opponents tonight, maybe that fact and the profit shown just gave me my answer. 4 tables, 1000 hands a day, one $5.50 tournament thrown in each day........ works for me.
Play well.
Congrats on the run good FD.
ReplyDeleteThat magic 8ball is pokertracker
ReplyDeleteSounds great and keep up the good work. I see you are over $300 now. Looks like I need to get to work at the live tables.
ReplyDeleteIf it ain't broke don't fix it. May as well stick with the system for a bit and see what happens.
